These are great units but if you are going to attach the quick disconnect to a modern automotive battery installed in an auto, think twice. Newer battery cables do NOT allow these rings to attach to the battery at the battery posts. You'll have to connect the 'Rings' to another positive and negative terminal location.If using on an auto, a better option is the cigarette lighter/power plug unit. Solid Quality
I am fortunate enough to maintain two houses - one in the mid-West for the summer and a second one in the Palm Springs area for the winter. Rather than drive 1500 miles each way I have a couple of cars in each location so each set will sit idle for six months of the year which means I usually have two dead batteries when I arrive for the season. I tried a cheaper brand of trickle charger in the desert last year and it worked but I was afraid that if it burned out I would still return to dead batteries. I really like the quality of the Schumacher products having two of their multifunction battery chargers that have worked well for over 10 years. When I saw that they offered high quality trickle chargers I bought two of them to make the switch to worry free charging. The chargers are well built and heavy for their size and the build quality is typical Schumacher. The chargers are intended to be installed in the engine compartment with battery connections that are permanently connected...

Great Battery Charger/Maintainer for your auto or SUV
Works great to keep your battery topped off on cold winter nights, and for days of long storage. Instead of dragging out your conventional charger and cables, then putting everything away when finished! Just mount this small unit under your hood, plug in a small AC extension cord, and close the hood. (not affecting alarm operation). It can charge a dead battery (not recommended) but it can take 24 to 36 hours.

Once mounted, with the permanent ring terminal connections made and the AC power cord properly connected to a grounded 120-volt outlet*, the SE-1-12S automatically switches between charge mode and maintain mode as necessary. The charger contains an easy-to-read LED indicators related to battery connection and charge state, and an electronic control circuit which safeguards against overcharging the battery ensuring that your stored battery is safely kept at proper levels and will be ready when you need it.

Quality unit, reasonable price.
I installed this in one of my SUV's that is not driven for weeks at a time.The Schumacher unit keeps a perfect charge and does not overheat or dry out the battery. The clock, radio, and GPS settings are all preserved and the charger does not seem to draw much power when the battery is charged. I am very satisfied with the operation of the unit.The installation was a breeze with the included hardware and the instructions were clear and easy.I do have two small complaints, however:(1) The battery lugs were way too big for my vehicle and all other cars that I checked.(2) The AC plug is too short to run anywhere. I wanted the plug to reach to just outside the vehicle's grill, so that the unit could be plugged in without opening the hood. I had to install an extra extension cord for that purpose.

We visited my parents last Christmas and they gave my little boy a Kawasaki Power Wheels Bike by them. I Charged the battery and when we returned home we lost the charger. The battery lasted a lot so I was looking for the charger and the Amazon description (color of the batteries and the Voltage) helped me a lot. Not Much To Say Except, IT WORKS!!!
Well, I don't know exactly why the passPORT won't work for the 1-star reviewer, BUT IT WORKED FOR ME! I got a Panasonic CQ-C7303U radio 2 years ago and then the iPod adapter for it over 1 year ago. At that time, I had the 5th gen iPod video, then after that crapped out on me, I got the 3rd gen. nano (8GB). Then I upgraded to the 4th gen. nano almost as soon as it came out, so I could have double the memory (16GB).Well, once I got the 4th gen. nano and plugged it into my radio, everything worked (it played/controlled through the radio), but I would get this message at the bottom of the nano's screen saying: "Charging is not supported for this accessory". (Or something like that.) And indeed the nano lost battery power much faster than it would listening to music through the headphones. (It makes since that more juice would be sucked up listening to music through the docking port.) Since I mostly listen to my nano in my truck (Panasonic radio), I depended on the radio... When Apple introduced its latest batch of music players, it quietly removed the last remnant of FireWire compatibility it had been keeping in to maintain compatibility with older accessories: 12V charging support.Unfortunately, this means the new devices cannot charge on older "compatible" docks, and even on recent ones because some manufacturers have been ignoring Apple's warnings and have persisted on shipping 12V devices even after being told support for this voltage was likely to disappear from new models of iPods.Luckily, Scosche was able to come up with an inexpensive pass-through adapter which lowers the voltage and supplies 5V to the right pin, essentially restoring the charging capability of your old device with your new iPod.There is not much to be said about the device itself: you plug it between the dock and the iPod, and it works.I have been using mine for several weeks with my iPod touch 2G with three devices it couldn't charge... Shipping problem has been addressed
The battery died on my Scion tC and I went straight to Amazon to find a new one. I have had an optima Red-Top in my Prelude for about 6 years now and it still runs strong (Worth it for just the winter starts alone), so I naturally went for the same battery this time. As far as the battery is concerned:......Works great right out of the box......Battery was charged enough from the factory to get the car started right out of the box.......Size and weight are very close to the OEM tC battery, It fit right in place with no mods. (Also, I do agree with the previous poster who said the terminal protector case would serve great as a booster to pick the battery up an inch or two. It's just a square piece of plastic)As far as the shipping and packing by Amazon is concerned:......First, I'll admit, I was concerned about the shipping based on what I read in the other reviews, but I know Amazon is on top of most problems pretty quickly and I was hoping they had... Didn't know how easy this could be.
I didn't realize what a straightforward way this was to get a battery for my Jeep Liberty. I was looking for a replacement for the original 5 year old battery and was pleased to find at the Optima Batteries web site they had one that fit my 2002 Jeep Liberty. I quickly found the battery on Amazon.com at a great price. The battery went right in my Jeep with a simple socket wrench. My local recycling guide pointed to somewhere to take the old one.
