It works and is worth the price
I am not sure what the other reviewer's problem was with his unit. Because of his review I purchased this with some hesitation. However, I've used it now for a couple of months and it works. It is not the best quality in the world. However, it is more convenient than having to install a tank heater, and, it works just as well. The other reviewer may have received one that was not properly manufactured. On the other hand, he may just not have read the directions. First, you must plug this in and place it in the oil reservoir while the oil in the vehicle is still hot. That is a tradeoff for the economy of a unit that consumes only 90 watts. This is perfect for my tractor here in the San Juan Mountains. When a storm is coming in, I always start up the old tractor to make sure it is working, then, shut it down and hook up the battery maintainer (charger)... Top to learn more

Does what it says
This is the best basic winch you can get. Don't be fooled into buying any of the cheaper ones. Learn from my mistakes. It does what it says it does. Pulls four tons. Has paid for itself in my case with one emergency use. Had to pull and lift 2.5 tons which it did with ease. I would recommend having a snatch block and either a chain or heavy strap to give more options when needed. It is not always possible to get the truck with the winch in exactly the right spot. I've been off-roading for more than four decades. Bikes, buggies and now, a 4x4. Never really thought I needed a winch until I got the 4X4, but since my Trooper weighs in at around 4,500 pounds, I knew there was no way I could get out of a "sticky" situation without a winch. I run in sand at Hatteras, hills and woods at Wind Rock and make the occasional trip to CO to explore old mining trails and hunt for ghost towns. And I always travel alone. So, one of my first purchases for the Trooper was an ARB bullbar and a Warn M8000. That was in 2002. Oddly, since then, I haven't had a desperate need for a winch. Oh, there have been numerous times when I have had to clear a large branch or tree from the trail, but I've never been stuck, so I never had a chance to put the M8000 to the test. much better than expected
I pre-heat my 237/(300) Mack engine with the heater; I power a large circular sawmill with the engine; I set my timer (Lowe's exterior timer; $22.00)depending on night temperature. If it gonna get -20, I have it kick on at midnight; if -30 I plug it in as soon as I shut the mill down (4PM); if 0 to -10 degrees (the usual in winter)I set the timer to kick it on at 3AM. At 16 cents kwh it cost about 25 cents an hour to operate-cheap insurance! Some have had less success than I have had with tank heaters because they didn't follow directions-enough said-follow directions and it will work fine. This thing is the nuts! My big Mack prime mover kicks right of with not even a full turn; before the suggestion to put on this beautiful heater; I had to futz and fart around with salamanders,tarps and all that horsetwaddle, then to start it cold and listen to the 'Mack symphony' for five minutes while she warmed up some (a bone-wrenching noise as deisel damage occurs when started from COLD). I tapped into the lower radiator hose to feed the unit.Took a bit of plumbing but prolly still much easier then pulling a frost plug or attaching to a coolant drain.I attached the other end to the upper heater core hose.I have a timer hooked up so it turns on 3 hours before I leave for work.If it's gonna be below 0 I set it for 4 hours.The engine turns so much easier and smoother....another great feature is the instant heat.Allready have warm air coming out the defrost where otherwise it would take about 10 minutes to get that warm.This is with a Ford 302 5ltr V-8 Top to learn more
Kats 1500 watt block heater
This heater was installed as a replacement unit on a John Deere 3020 diesel tractor. It appears to be made pretty well and came with all the necessary hardware for installation. It has only been used about 6 times but has worked great, so far. Time will tell. Top to learn more

Dodge City’s Matt Goedeken just drained a three-pointer from the top of the key to give Dodge a 7-4 lead over Heights with 6:13 left in the second quarter. Dodge City will take a 4-2 lead into the second quarter. It’s a block party here in Dodge City. Hutchinson is starting to find some seams, but the lead is still a big one for East (25-11 with 4 minutes left in the second quarter). I just don’t see a team like Hutchinson being able to handle a man defense like East’s. 7:25 pm: Curious to see East coach Ron Allen switch to zone defense already in the second quarter. This is exactly the start coach Nathan Henry was dreading against a team like East, as the Blue Aces lead 20-6 after the the first quarter. This quarter could not have gone better for Dodge City. He hustles all the way down and causes Dodge City to miss. He just sprinted the length of the court to disrupt what looked to be a sure-fire lay-up for Dodge City. 7:38 pm: It’s halftime here and East has a comfortable lead of 32-19 on Hutchinson in a semifinal match-up in the Tournament of Champions. Oh yeah, East has an incredible 8 blocks so far. East absolutely floored Hutchinson that first quarter. Dodge City keeps the clock ticking, though.
