Great Product
This product was very easy to install and the instructions were well written to understand how to calibrate it with my trailer. Top to learn more
Wow. Very good price and a great controller!
The Reese Towpower is a very good brake contoller. Don't be chased off by the vehicle application chart. This controller will fit any vehicle, any year etc. I have a 1977 Ford F150 and it was simple to wire into my existing wiring. The directions were easy to follow and, along with your wiring harnes plug at your hitch, a novice should be confident enough to install this in under an hour. I like that the Reese Towpower can be installed in any position under the dash...it doesn't have to be installed on a level plane, and the brake proportion adjustments are an easy dial with your thumb. When I first saw the price I thought this must be a mis-print or a used unit. It isn't... it is brand new just like from a bricks and mortar store. I had shopped around and was prepared to pay in the $90-$100 range at the local national retailers. Boy was I fortunate to search on Amazon...I saved a lot of money! Don't hesitate to buy this Reese Towpower if you are looking for a controller for... Top to learn more
Easy
I had a prewired truck and ordered a prewire kit so I didn't have to cut or install any wires on my vehicle. Once installed and adjusted, the brake controller worked perfectly. I purchased this for a one time use of towing a camper, but it would easily work for any other trailer with powered brakes. Top to learn more

Great look but lackluster cargo light
I love the look of this light and the install was pretty simple. It doesn't fit quite as well as the OEM unit though and the cargo lights seem pretty useless. Overall I'm very pleased with the unit and would definitely buy it again. Top to learn more

Not as dark smoked as I thought
This product looks good, but in daylight it is not as dark as I would have hoped. The tail lights I installed on my black truck look great, this unit, maybe due to the smaller size, shows the silver reflective backing much more so it looks like black chrome in the daylight, not what I was looking for. The fit is about 80%, not a perfect fit and could be better. It is bright and does look good but thinking on going back to the red OEM light. Top to learn more

Tekonsha for the Long Haul!
Consider this... The combine cost of your tow vehicle and trailer... The combine weight of your tow vehicle and trailer... The fact that your trailer may well weigh more than your tow vehicle... And that moron that just jumped in your lane then slammed on his brakes... This is NOT the time to think to yourself, "maybe I should've gotten a better brake controller." Seriously, when the difference in cost is under $100, is it really not worth buying the best?I've used the Tekonsha P3 for two and half years now and I have nothing but praises to sing! Features, user friendliness, and results! This unit has it all. First lets talk about the mechanism. It uses a digital G-Sensor as apposed to a physical pendulem. Why is this a benifit? Because there are no downhill issues that you see with the physical and analog type sensors. Prior to digial sensors, the downhill slope would throw off the pendulem and the brake controller either would send a weaker current to the... Top to learn more
P-3 and the Big Trip
I bought the P3 just prior to a trip to Florida hauling a large dual axle trailer with a 2007 Toyota Tundra. I also bought the wiring harness for the P3 which was designed for the already installed factory towing package. The brake controller arrived by UPS the day prior to my trip and I took it out to the truck to install and quite frankly spent more time trying to figure out where I wanted to put it than it took to setup. After mounting the controller with the supplied bracket I backed up to the trailer and plugged the trailer in and followed the directions to set up the brakes.Everything worked as advertized and it handled the trailer quite well. When loaded for the backhaul to Grand Rapids, the trailer was 10k+ pounds. The trip went well and I used both the proportional and the manual settings to see how they worked. Again I was pleasantly surprised as it worked as advertized and there was not much of a learning curve. There were numerous options such as lighting and... Top to learn more

Great Brake Controller
First, this is a great unit and rock solid at brake control. I upgraded from a Tekonsha Prodigy. It's Simple! Just removed the older unit (Prodigy) from it's existing bracket, unplugged the existing wiring plug, plugged in the P-3. I slid the P-3 into the old bracket and inserted the 2 screws. It's installed. Then I just adjusted the P-3 per the included operating instructions. It could not have been simpler.Starting from scratch? About an hours work and the instructions are all there. Most newer trucks come with a trailer harness for a controller. My 06 Chev 2500HD did. However there are instructions for installing it without a dealer supplied harness as well.Highly recommend this unit vs. others.Update: This is a great unit. BUT, other than an LCD screen to provide additional info for the user, the ability to control the braking action is no better/ no worse than the Prodigy I replaced. I still highly recommend the unit but... Top to learn more

Worth the cost if you need it
Bought OTC 6980 Puller to remove rear drums on a 1997 Ford Ranger. Had tried tapping/beating on the drums with no success. This puller popped them off with remarkable ease. It's a serious, heavy duty tool, seems well thought out and good construction. Good, basic instructions including (as another reviewer points out) a note to use the lug nuts to prevent the brake drum from popping all the way off the studs when it let's loose. It also comes with a strap to secure the whole thing to the drum. I didn't care for the strap. Instead, I rotated the tool 90 degrees on the drum so the bar points up and down instead of side to side. That worked fine in my case.I doubt I would try to remove the drums again without this tool. It just makes all the difference. One note about drum brakes: If you have two threaded holes in the face of the drum, look on youtube for a video showing how to remove the drums with two large bolts and save yourself $100. Does what it says
After years of struggling to pull rusted drums off my cars, I found this tool. It's very heavy duty and can handle any size vehice. I used it to pull the rusted drums off my 2006 Toyota Sienna van (3 ton vehicle). It didn't warp the drums. This tool was also pretty safe because it comes with a decent strap/tightening lever. And the good directions recommend that you leave two lug nuts on so the drum doesn't pop off in your face. I forgot to do this the first time but the drum really didn't pop too far. I'd recommend this tool not only because it does what it says it will, but also because it is so freakin' cool when the drum pops loose! I called my wife out to watch the second drum pop. It scared her pretty good...hee..he. Well worth the money... :) Top to learn more

Works Great!
I bought this to do my cousins rear Elantra brakes as the autoshop quoted him $600. We ordered all quality parts; drums, pads, & hardware, for under $225. Sure we cold have gone cheaper by why do it all again in two years.First we had to drill out the 2 screws holding the drum down and then his drums wound up being seized to the hub so bad I could not break them free even with my baby sledge hammer. I have never had this problem before. Short of cutting them off I decided to give this a try. What an awesome tool! It works great and is solidly constructed as well. I use it on my cousins breaks and drum still doesn't budge so I tighten it even more putting more pressure on the drum - nothing. Ok stand clear I say and I stand to the side and give it a solid whack with my 53 baby sledge.... BOING! and it comes flying off. No damage to the tool at all. Almost the exact same scenario on the other side. An hour later he is on happy camper.A few weeks later... Top to learn more

Inferior aftermarket brakes fail to meet these standards so when selecting you Dodge brakes, be sure to choose Mopar parts. When it’s time for brakes, choosing authentic Mopar Dodge brakes is essential. A regular brake system inspection every 12 months or 12,000 miles could be the difference between a $125 to $150 brake pad service versus a comprehensive brake job that could reach in excess of $500. Visit them to browse their Mopar parts and find Dodge brake parts catalogs. The smartest thing your can do is ask for authentic Mopar Parts when you purchase your next set of Dodge brakes. With the effectiveness of your Dodge brakes being critical, trusting your replacement parts to the best is a better choice. When you choose Mopar Dodge brakes you can be sure that what’s under the hood, matches the emblem that’s on the hood. So why go with Mopar when replacing your Dodge brakes. Properly maintaining your Dodge brakes on cannot be underestimated from a from both a safety standpoint and from a cost standpoint.
In later years these cars were true “muscle cars” in every sense of the word, except that the muscle car package was hidden in a “mom-and-pop” four-door sedan rather than the more noticeable convertible or hardtop coupe. While early Ford V8s had a reputation for the speed and power desired by police departments, Plymouths were a popular choice for police work even in the early years. ” Many of the cars came with mirrored windows (you could see out from inside the vehicle but no one could see in), but these had to be replaced before the car could be sold since they were illegal for most uses. The Ford ran the mile in 68 seconds, topping out at 82 mph while the Plymouth clipped through the mile in just 60 seconds, reaching a top speed of 90 miles per hour. Police cars , like police work, have changed considerably over the years. The Greeley, Colorado, police department pitted 1935 Chevrolet, Ford and Plymouth models against each other before deciding on which make to buy for their police work. It wasn’t until the 1950s, however, that the term “police package” (referring to a specially equipped automobile designed solely for police work) would come into common usage. Many of the officers who contributed photos of early police cars commented that the officer was not protected from the prisoners being transported. Over the years Plymouth turned out some special cars for police work. Many departments used the close coupled business coupe for police work, resulting in a transported prisoner sitting directly alongside the officer.
