This is a 2.5" exhaust **lap-joint** stainless-steel clamp. Lap-joint implies the material overlaps, versus butt-joint, where the materials butt against each other. This means one end accommodates the overlapping exhaust pipe and the smaller end clamps more securely on the slip-fitted pipe.You get a lap-joint clamp when you have a slip-fit exhaust where one pipe slips inside the other. I was building a 2.5" exhaust and did not want to weld-in cats and not be able to easily dismantle the exhaust without a lift (it's just me in the garage and a floor jack).This lap-joint clamp works great and Amazon had the cheapest price anywhere, plus free shipping for Prime members.You don't want to get the cheapie horseshoe/u-bolt type clamps as they make indentions in the pipe (making it out of round) and are prone to leaking and sometimes make it almost impossible to "un-slip" the exhaust pipes. Quality product - Crappy description
This is a referenced as a 2.5" band clamp, yet one side is flared to almost 2.75". At first I thought I received the wrong item, and amazon was quick to replace it. Unfortunately the new one was the same way, which is why I think the description is unclear.I believe this to be a manufacture specific band clamp (NOT a generic 2.5" band clamp), and in turn should be labeled as so. Hopefully this review will save others the head ache I have endured.

this was just the clamp I needed. It's an exhaust clamp, not an HDTV, so the other review is absolutely unfair in saying there wasn't enough listed to make the right purchase. The company's sizes can easily be reserached so the right size can be purchased.

that being said i have roughly 30k on it. i checked the plugs and they looked ok to me, nice and tan electrode and black around the threads. I installed them and it ran great for a day or 2 now i have a fairly rough idle, so i pulled them out and showed them to another turbo guy and he said they are way lean.
