RDS Auxiliary Fuel System
Some of the components were low quality (clamps and valve). After installing, within 100 miles, the truck gas gauge went to "E" with a warning (auxiliary tank full). Removed the cap to inspect and fuel overflowed. Immediately shut off the auxiliary tank and issues returned to normal - I think. I am reserving judgement. Top to learn more

I should have gotten this a long time ago!
Shortly after getting my Jeep Liberty, the engine light went on & I ended up spending $100 for the service dept. to tell me that there was nothing wrong... but I should bring it back if it happened again. Well, it happened again & again. Luckily though, before I spent another dime, my father (also a Liberty owner) told me about the infamous gas cap trouble that causes the engine light to come on.After weeks of making sure the cap was on properly, the light came on one time & would not go out again no matter what. I finally ordered the Stant gas cap after some online research & the engine light has now gone out & stayed off.I can't believe that this is such a simple & cheap fix, and that Jeep service centers know about this and rip their customers off by neither replacing the cap, or telling the customers what is happening. Just what I needed
My check engine light came on a while ago, and when I got my oil changed they said it was because of some kind of pressure vacuum something or other. But the point is they said it's most likely the gas cap. I replaced it with this one, and the light is off now. What a great price for a check engine light solution! Oh, and even though it doesn't have a cord like the factory one did, I just drilled took the tether off the old one, and drilled a hole into the cap of about the same size. Go with as small a hole as you can so the cord will be on tighter. I think I used 5/32 on the drill, then took the 7/32 bit and gouged around the inside edge ever so slightly. Top to learn more

Quality Better than Factory Original
My factory original gas cap for my 2009 Nissan Frontier had given out after only two years. After the service engine soon light came on, the dealer did a smoke test and found the problem was a leaky gas cap. I was told I could order the factory original for $60, I declined and checked both with Stant's website and with Amazon Automotive to see what gas cap was appropriate for my truck. The dealer had offered me an alternative $15 gas cap, with unknown quality and ship time. I opted to go with the Stant cap instead. The only downside of this was that I had to wait and drive around for three weeks before the engine light cleared itself. If I had purchased though the dealership, I could have had the trouble light cleared right away, and been sure that the gas cap would work. However, I was patient and thankfully the engine light cleared itself on the third week after I replaced the cap.The most important part of the fuel cap is the rubber seal. The stant cap... Replacing an old, leaky or missing gas cap will save as much as a gallon of gas every 15 days and can pay for itself in less than three months. Stant gas caps are OE style and meet or exceed all original equipment performance and safety standards. A gas/fuel cap performs three very important functions; safety of the vehicle's occupants, fuel economy and reduce emissions. Safety: Without a fuel cap, gasoline vapors will be present around your car at all times. Those vapors can be ignited by a random spark or flame and are very dangerous if you are involved in an accident or rollover. Fuel Economy: According to Sun Oil Company research, a vehicle with a missing or inoperative fuel cap will allow 176 pounds (22 gallons) of gasoline to evaporate over the period of one year. Emissions: Gasoline vapors emit hydrocarbons which dissolve the earth's ozone layer and cause smog. Top to learn more

though I can verify that the 22 gallon tank will fit where a 15 was, and that the sending units are the same between the 15 gallon tank and the 22 because I did this. I got a 22 gallon tank from a JY that came from a 93 for only $20.
The original vacuum system probably only bleeds a small portion of engine vacuum to the Stewart tank, or rather the valve system in the Stewart tank is needing a portion of engine vacuum to trickle the fuel into vacuum tank as needed, thereby,... Well, it seems these days, everybody that has a 1920's Dodge is pulling off their fuel tanks for clean out and repairs. As long as your vacuum tank fills the lower chamber with fuel for the gravity portion of system to the carb, you're all set. I knew there wasn't much of any fuel in the tank, that I could determine and I felt very lucky that the drain screw came out OK, it's a 3/8" hex head, and found it to be a steel tapered plug. I was amazed that the tank strap nuts came loose so easy, I had sprayed the threads earlier with Liquid Wrench, still a long process with a 9/16" box wrench. I hear there's good money in it. Anyway, my gas tank is also full of chunks too, I'm trying to get time today to start the cleaning process. The photo is of a "clear" plastic jar with some of the "fluid" (it's no longer gasoline)- that I drained out of tank. Got tank off car, with it laying on my belly, as I am on my back on floor, under car. I had the coil sitting in the open hole where the original coil would go and apparently the (taller) coil was a wee bit too close to the exhaust manifold. I removed the gauge bezel OK, out came the fuel sending unit, complete with original cork float, all rusted into one dark brown glob.

Goodbye, gasoline: Some vehicle fleets make switch to compressed natural gas power
Those emission-control devices also have the effect of reducing fuel efficiency, Wollschlager said. The trucks have Kevlar-reinforced tanks filled with natural gas pressurized to 3100 pounds per square inch. Trucks can also run on liquid natural gas
Recall Roundup: Jeep Compass and Patriot Fuel Tanks, Chrysler Minivan Wheel Hubs
The Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot, as well as Dodge and Chrysler minivans, are part of this latest recall roundup. The Problem: The roll-over valves in the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot fuel tanks may have been damaged during installation.
Auto sales rev up in year's first quarter
"There's an uptick in fuel economy cars, but we're doing real well with Ram trucks and minivans," said Gregg Tank, general manager at S&L Motors, a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealer in Pittsfield. "A lot of people have hung on to their cars for a
