Works as advertised
I wanted a pump with built in check valve that would allow me to have either 6 volt negative or positive ground. As well, I wanted to be able to pull through the pump with my stock fuel pump, using the electric pump to fill the carburetor after extended storage of my antique vehicles without extensive cranking. Works as advertised and fits the need perfectly.

Vinage Airtex Electric Fuel Pump is still available
I have had one of these Airtex fuel pumps on my vintage 6V car for over 20 years. It recently failed so I had to find a replacement. I really like the Airtex fuel pump because of it's small size, isolated electrical design (so it can be used on a 6V, positive ground vehicle) and quiet operation. As I stated, my original pump has been working for over 20 years, and I really doubted that I would be able to buy the exact same pump anymore. I went to every auto parts store in my city and was not able to even order this fuel pump. I was just about to resign myself to buying a much larger, louder, and more expensive pump when I decided to try finding one via Google. I was amazed that Amazon came up with the exact same pump. They not only had this pump in stock, it was significantly less expensive than any other replacement pump I looked at. More specific in stating FIRST and CLEARLY it is a 6 Volt pump and not buried far in the description pages.Same applies for the pump pressure output. What is the rated output pressure? Important to know.

This is great
I'd seen this evacuator in some car care catalogs I get, but for around $75 instead of the $52 Amazon charges. I generally am fine with going under the car, but I have an S2000 now and it's too low to go on my ramps. So, I bought this after reading many reviews.In short, this works great. I got it in 2 days after ordering, and it was in perfect shape. I checked, and there were no cracks or crazing in the plastic where it was screwed together. The translucent plastic also appears to be very thick - I can't imagine the vacuum pump in this ever being strong enough to collapse it, as one review described. I work in an engine laboratory and deal with automotive tools daily - this is as high quality as most other tools you'd find in a professional garage.I found the instructions to be just fine. They're only one page, but this is a simple device. In short, there are three tubes that come with it. The largest is designed to connect to the evacuator, and the other end...

Excellent product, dont need to get under the car
This is an excellent product. It really works best with Mercedes and BMWs where they also have the oil filter on the top of the car so you dont even need to get under the car to remove the oil filter. Ive also used this on my Audi, which it works fine, but you still need to get under it to get the oil filter out.Also should point out, this wont work on some domestics because the way they snake their dipsticks into the oil pan. Clear example is the Dodge Ram 04. It comes with a tubing small enough to fit practically any car, but the dipstick on this truck snakes through to major curves so didnt work on that car.But I can say it will work for almost any import or german car.Dixit

Great service, product did not fix my problem
Ordered the Airtex 1S6670 Oil Pressure Switch for my 2002 Chrysler Sebring (from The Price Pros) because the oil light kept coming on after the car warmed up to operating temperature. It was a pain to change, but after I changed it, the light still came on. Not sure if the sensor is bad or if the car has other issues. There is plenty of oil in the car and the problem is systemic with this model car. If nothing else, the seller was prompt and the price was reasonable.

Ive talked to mechanics who insist its the oil sending unit but I am insistant its the pump and am currently having a melling HV on hold for me. I just did an oil change, added some prolong and while it does act better like it would just after a... So even at idle I should be at 40 psi oil pressure but lately at idle in drive or park(neutral) or changing gears the oil pressure will erratially drop and it sits halfway between 40 and the green line to the left. from what ive searhed, these pump arent uncommon to give issues like this. ive also noticed at idle and cruising with the decrease in oil pressure that the engine starts getting to 205-210 until i rev or drive to get pressuse up. i know that improper lubrication can cause damage but also cause friction to be allowed... might just replace both as i can get the bwd unit and mellin Hv pump about 70 bucks for both. ive noticed a lot more ticking up top but thats an obvious symptom of a lack of oil pressure. the oil light will flicker while idling for more than 15 sec and every now and them drop really low and sound like its gonna stall and die.
