Hood lift supports
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup, the hood lift supports quit working and would no longer hold up the hood. I purchased this product and it was shipped very fast, had easy instructions, and 5 minutes later I had my new supports installed. They work great!

Working perfectly
The 14 year-old trunk lifts on my 1998 Dodge Intrepid were worn out, wouldn't hold the trunk lid open. Removing the old ones and installing these new ones was straightforward and easy. (I did have some help, someone holding the trunk lid open while I removed the old lifts and installed these new lifts. These were a perfect fit in my 1998 Dodge Intrepid. I was concerned that I might need to reuse attachment parts the old lifts, but I didn't. These replacements included the necessary "clips" that keep them held in place.

Gotta love 'em
Kudos- to Amazon and their sellers. Monroe struts are considered the premium standard for automotive chassis repair (my opinion, and many others too). These simply are great parts and WELL BELOW (nearly 50%) local auto stores prices. They were complete ready to install and came with most new hardware, leaving only a few bolts that had to be re-used. You can find cheaper parts but the ones listed with this review- are amongst the industries best and coming through an Amazon seller, just a great value. Also, if you are a DIY type of person, this is a realistic project that can be completed by someone with average mechanical skill in a reasonable amount of time. I am highly mechanical (also a perfection nut on stuff like this), and spent about 3 hours doing both sides and a couple other chassis components. Just remember the vehicle should be re-aligned immediately following installation.Good Luck!!!!

Mostly pros
I bought 171572 L & R. For DIYers, the quick strut makes sense unless you have a spring compression tool. And even if you do, its dangerous. With not much more than the tools I need to do most work on my '01 Dodge Grand Caravan, I changed both struts in about 3 hours. The only thing I didn't like was that my original struts have round holes for two straight strut-to-steering knuckle bolts. These Monroe struts require one straight bolt and one cam bolt. Though I try to do my own work to reduce expense, I now have to take the van for an alignment as the toe-in/out needs to be shop adjusted. Otherwise, at $125 each, that's less than 1/2 the parts & labor cost quoted by my local garage.

Quick and easy, huge improvement in ride
A local shop wanted $900 parts and labor to replace the struts and shocks on my wife's Grand Caravan. I got the same parts (these struts and monroe shocks for the rear) for about 1/3 their price on amazon (local auto parts stores were cheaper than the repair shop but still higher than amazon). Installation was pretty straight forward and took about 2 or 3 hours. Would have been about an hour but I stripped a nut and had to cut and replace a $10 stabilizer arm and grind off the bolt (adding an extra hour or so for a trip to the auto parts store). There was a little bit of a learning curve on the first side I tackled (including stripping that nut on the stabilizer arm) but the second side took me literally 15 minutes to swap out once I had the tire off. Another $70 for a professional alignment and I had in it about half the cost I would have paid a shop to do it (and their quote didn't include alignment). Good product
Installed these struts on our 2005 Chrysler Town & Country without any major issues, the most difficult task was removing the sway bar links. In all, I replaced the struts, the sway bar links and bushings, and the shocks (same Monroe family). After the installation I had the vehicle aligned, and the shop thought it was a waste of money to have replaced the strut bolts, as recommended by Monroe: so skip this replacement item and save the 20 bucks. Additionally, I had to retighten the strut mounting nuts after the units seated themselves. I also needed to retighten the sway bar link nuts at the same time. The ride has dramatically improved, but I would label it as stiff.

Works Great - 2000 Durango
Installed these about a month ago on my 2000 Dodge Durango liftgate that would not stay open in hot weather. The install was easy and I was amazed at how well they performed. I suppose I had gotten used to the original ones on the vehicle that I had purchased used. I waited to make this review till I actually used them for a few weeks and can say that there are no problems to report.

Going Up and Staying
Correct Mopar part numbers with Pentastar logo fit my 2010 Challenger perfectly. Easily installed with just an adjustable wrench and knowing your right from left. Hood stays up fine so I can work in or show the engine bay with out the factory prop rod in the way.
