Great Cartop Carrier
We purchased this carrier because our current carrier, a hitch-based carrier on the rear of the car, put too much weight on the rear of the vehicle, making it hard to steer in wet or icy conditions.The bag is made of VERY heavy vinyl-type fabric. So heavy in fact that it is hard to open, close, and zip. But once you get it worked out (I brought it inside to warm it up, which helped a lot) it is a nice accessory.The straps were easy to lace through the eyelets, and although it was not detailed in the instructions how to lace them through, I was able to work it out in no time. Instructions could have been clearer.The zippers are very heavy duty, but because the fabric is so heavy they are difficult to open or close. I believe this is a function of the fabric being water resistant. I found myself trying to stretch the creases / folds out of the fabric in order to pull the zipper. Even a TINY crease will prevent the zipper from moving as the fabric is...

Well Worth the Money
This past December I found myself in need of a cargo bag for a one time, 2000 mile drive. After researching different options (all with price tags in the $100's of dollars) I stumbled across the rain ex. I thought I would give it a try. I was shocked at how much baggage it held and how easy it was to attach and detach from my Blazer. (Although it held so much cargo that once it was off it was hard to manage due to the fact that its a bag not a shell) We went through a few rain storms and not a drop got inside. I was more than pleased with its performance and anyone who isn't simply isn't being realistic for the money. I would recommend it to anyone for one or two time use on a major trip.

Not for cold weather.
This is a great value for the money but only in warm weather. The material gets so stiff in cold weather that it is almost impossible to work the zippers, and the zipper flap cracked open at a seam in 20degree weather while trying to lift the flap to get at the zipper.

Awesome product at a great price
We bought these to go with our roof top carrier. The parts store wanted over $200 for crossbars for our 2004 Dodge Durango and our Dodge dealer couldn't even order them. My husband was a little leery, but I talked him into it. They worked perfectly, right out of the package. You just turn the little knobs and the brackets get tighter and tighter around your side rails. They mount strong and tight, very easy installation. We mounted our roof top carrier to these crossbars and never had a problem with anything shifting.

Much better than I expected!
Tried finding aftermarket cross-bars for a late model Ford Escape, couldn't find anything. Looked at just about everything on Amazon, and ended up trying these out. They say they aren't meant for angled roof rails, but they hold onto mine just fine. I honestly expected to have to MacGuyver these in some way to work, but nope, out of the box, they worked perfectly. They are extremely easy to put on and take off which worries me a bit for theft, but with an allen wrench, someone can take any roof rack they want, so don't think its worthy of taking off a star for it. They also held up my Thule snowboard rack perfectly.

Worked great and a great value!
I bought these to use on my Honda Odyssey minivan when we went from Indiana to Florida. They worked great and were a great value. They fit securely and were very durable. Great value for the money too, which was my favorite part! Would recommend to anyone.

Simplicity is a virtue
These rack towers are such a no-brainer that a blind person could mount them by touch. (I hope I did not offend anyone--just making a point.) Some rigs have very wide rails, in particular a two-year model of Forester and of course, the cool looking but inadequate rails on the Xterra. You must consult Thule's Fit Guide. The knob/lock/tightening tool is pure genius. Like all manufacturers, Thule has some hits and some very few misses, but this set-up is a home run. Highly recommended. Just consult their Fit Guide and you'll be racked up in no time.

The Thule 450 Crossroad Railing-mounted Foot Pack for Car Roof Racks is designed for vehicles with factory rack side rails, and fits more vehicles than any other railing carrier. The Crossroad uses a foot style that complements all vehicles, and is easy to install with just the turn of a handle, no tools required.

The 450 Crossroad feet give you maximum strength and a custom fit via rubber-coated steel straps, and provide for full rail protection with integrated rubber linings. High Quality. Little tough to install. Some Windnoise.
We purchased this product to go on our Ford Flex. The Bands that go around the Roof Rack Base on Vehicle are a bit tight. They were just long enough to secure. The wrench for tightening/securing the bands are in the side underneath the THULE logo. Since it was a bit hard to pull the strap around and tighten...the tool doesn't seem to want to "snap" home into the base.The Cross Bars (not included in the Roof Rack Foot Pack) are well constructed. Very robust. They have a slight whistling...so we tend not to have it always on...only when needed.I am disappointed that the locks are not included with the rack foot pack...especially for the price. It was not clearly stated in the description. The End Caps are included in the foot pack...but they are not included with the cross bars. Which seems odd.

excellent value, but ignore the item photo
The SportRack A90095 Explorer Box is a big, dry, useful box on the roof of my van. It would not surprise me, however if I am the only person to have bought one through Amazon, as the article pictured is a small piece of mounting hardware, and not the 4' x 5' x 1.5' ABS box it is in fact. Search elsewhere on the internet for an accurate image. That said, it was still a big pain to assemble all the parts. Don't attempt the job when you're in a hurry, tired, or otherwise impaired.

At 1/3 the price of the competition, you can't go wrong.
I have only a few complaints about this product.First the material it is made of is thin and flimsy. It is certainly not as strong as some of the boxes made from ABS plastic. If you park in the sun for any time the plastic softens to the point where you may have trouble getting the hinges to engage to hold the top up. Another result of the softened plastic is the sagging of the hinge side of the lower portion of the box. This causes the top to sag down slightly reducing the clearance for loading items.Another issue is the assembly. It was painfully cumbersome, and I am very mechanically inclined. It's definitely a two man job, one to hold the top while the other attaches and tightens the nuts and bolts.Attaching to my vehicle (04 Dodge Durango) was a pain as well. The height of the vehicle made it challenging enough but attaching the "U" bolts on the hinge side was a real pain. If you have a smaller vehicle like a sedan or a Subaru Outback or...
